Prior to starting New York Rock Exchange, Jeff was a cofounder of MobTV where he led engineering and product development for the Emmy Award winning team that first brought live television to mobile phones. Along with cofounders Phillip Alvelda and Paul Scanlan, Jeff helped scale MobiTV to over 300 employees, raised $125MM in venture capital, and provided live TV service to over 20MM subscribers around the globe.

Prior to MobiTV Jeff designed toys (Hasbro) and special effects for theme parks (Universal Studios). Outside of work, Jeff is a dedicated husband and father as well as a driver for the New York Rock Exchange Auto Racing Team (SCCA, NASA, and 24 hours of Lemons). 


Joe built his first website in 1994. Since then he has worked on the world's first privacy engine, developed an enterprise DVR cloud, and invented a citizen journalism news platform. His strong entrepreneurial spirit has lead him to form two record labels, build a recording studio, create an online newspaper, and found Underground Labs. Through the years, Joe has used his diverse talents working on projects for Macromedia, Yahoo, Microsoft, William Sonoma and The Gap. In his spare time, Joe likes to play jazz piano. He dreams of one day looking down at the Earth from space. 


Christopher has 15 years of experience working in design and product development. He has created products for Disney, Sony, the NFL, Verizon and Deutsche Telekom just to name a few! 


Behind the scenes, Eric is the one who makes it all happen. From shipping to SQL and customer service to content management, he's the guy who makes sure the trains run on time. In his spare time Eric assumes his alter ego, DJ Eratic, and spins all nite and day. 


Mr. Kappel splits his time between Nashville and New Orleans, dedicated to serving creators, professionals, businesses, and organizations in the entertainment industries. 

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Kappel serves as an adjunct professor at Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law, where he teaches entertainment law.  He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Music Industry Studies Department at Loyola’s College of Music and Fine Arts.

Mr. Kappel sits on the Board of Directors for New Orleans Access Television, Inc. and serves as general counsel for the Vera Ross Johnson Foundation.


Currently the co-founder and president of MobiTV, Inc. Paul is responsible for managing and growing all aspects of the company’s international sales and partnership activity.

Prior to founding MobiTV, Scanlan served as managing partner and executive vice president of Enterprise IG, where he managed the technology consulting practice and was instrumental in successfully expanding the business. Scanlan launched his career in telecommunications sales at Lucent Technologies.


Currently Dr. Alvelda is taking the latest neural engineering science and technology out of the laboratory and seeding the creation of new mind-enabled industries with the DARPA Biological Technologies Office. A scientist, engineer, serial entrepreneur, and educator, highlights of Phillip’s career include developing sensors that have flown throughout the solar system, establishing an entirely new infrastructure in telecommunications and media at companies that he founded, including the DARPA-funded MicroDisplay, and MobiTV, and founding the non-profit Westminster Institute for K-12 Science Education reform (

Phillip holds over 50 technical publications and numerous patents, a Technical Emmy award from the Academy of Motion Pictures, a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Cornell University, and Masters and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.

To round out his technical, entrepreneurial and educational background, Phillip has studied Judo, Aikido, and dance for more than 45 years, and is an avid student of the connections between mind and body.
